You're free to choose your project, but whatever you choose shouldn't be far beyond your current skill level.

You should be able to do the majority of it and only require occasional help/inputs. This way, everyone in the group can get the help they need, and you're not stuck waiting around for the instructor while they help others.

If you want to make something bespoke and more complex, you can always book a private session and our instructors will help you bring your ideas to life in a 1-on-1 coaching format.

Alternatively, consider becoming a member to use the worskhop independently.

Since everyone works on different projects, materials are not included in the open workshop pricing.

You can purchase wood, glue, sandpaper & sanding discs directly on the spot (subject to availability).

Anything else (notably nails/screws and other hardware) should be purchased elsewhere and brought with you.

Yes, as long as:

a) You have taken a course where you learned to mill your own lumber (=you can use the jointer, planer, table saw, bandsaw safely and independently);

b) You purchase the hardwood and order it to be milled to your specified dimensions before the session.

Yes, storage is included for the entire duration of your subscription — with some rules:

• We ask that you limit the number of parallel projects to no more than three at a time.

• We ask you to complete larger projects (e.g. furniture) and take them home before starting new projects.

• Completed projects should be taken home promptly.

• After your subscription expires, you must remove all your belongings within 30 days. Failure to do so may result in them being discarded and you may be charged recycling fees.

Anyone can participate, but we recommend this format for people with some prior experience. Ideally, you should take 1 or more of our structured adult courses before attending open workshop sessions.
