Discover one of the most popular and satisfying disciplines of woodworking. You will be guided step-by-step through the basics of woodturning and uncover your beautiful product from a seemingly uninteresting chunk of wood. You will use a lathe and a range of cutting tools before sanding and finishing for a beautiful, smooth gloss finish. We also offer turning workshops for couples and small groups of up to four people. We offer a unique experience in a fully-equipped craft space in Geneva and Lausanne where kids and teens can have hands-on experience to learn how things are made. Working with wood is always a beautiful thing to do for both adults and kids. We are very excited to offer you the calming activity that is ornamental wood carving. In this introductory course you can try your wings and learn the basics of wood carving. We will be teaching you how to use your first tools, what wood to select and what designs to start with. We’ll share his tricks and techniques in a project-based manner, after which you will walk home with your first artistic creation. Epoxy and noble wood are a powerful duo that can produce some stunning results. Join us in the workshop to learn how to work with epoxy and create your first wood+epoxy product – a set of six coasters or a beautiful serving tray (+30 chf) that you will definitely be proud of. You will learn how to: - Prepare the wood; - Build a leak-proof mould; - Pour the epoxy resin; - Achieve your desired colour; - Give your product the beautiful finish it deserves; - And, of course, stay safe throughout!
